Revised Basic Course workshop (RBCW) in Medical Education Technologies and ATCOM
Revised Basic Course workshop (RBCW) was organized at Rajshree Medical Research Institute Bareilly on 26th April 2022 to 28th April 2022 under the Regional Center, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun.
This program was inaugurate by Col. (Prof) VK Agarwal, Dean RMRI, Dr. Shalini Chandra from Rohilkhand Medical College who was nominated as NMC observer for this workshop.
First session took by Dr. S. Varalakshmi on the interesting topic “Ice breaking & Group dynamics facilitated”. She stressed upon the importance of group dynamics in continuing medical education and briefed the participants about MEU activities.
In continuation this was followed by a very informative session on CBME by Prof. Dr. Amita Ray (RMRI). Various topics covered included systems approach for instructional learning, the concept of CBME, competencies and objectives, the novel techniques of integrated teaching and an introduction to the importance of assessment.
The whole workshop contain 20 sessions for RBCW covering all the topics as per the format of the National Medical Commission of India over these 3 days. These sessions were conducted by 15 NMC trained facilitators of RMRI.
Each day was started with the summary of previous day sessions by one of the workshop participant. A pre and post-test was given and analyzed. Feedback of the sessions were taken on all three days, evaluated and discussed with the participants.
All the sessions were very informative and interactive with many group exercises, hands on activities, station making and role plays. It was highly appreciated by the participants and the MCI Observer alike.
At the end of the third day, Valedictory function was organized and course completion certificates were awarded to participants by Prof Shalini Chandra.
